Your orthopedic surgeon

Dr. Dan SCORPIE

Dr. Scorpie is specialized in orthopedic surgery of the shoulder, hip and knee providing personalized and high-quality care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

My job is not just about repairing bones or joints. It’s about giving people back what they thought they had lost: their mobility, their independence, their energy. I get straight to the point, explain things clearly, and work with you to develop a plan that makes sense. Every decision is shared, every action is thoughtful. You are not a file, you are a person—and that is how I am committed to treating you.

My expertise

Hip

Total hip replacements are performed via a minimally invasive anterior approach, preserving soft tissues and ensuring faster recovery with accurate leg length control.

Shoulder

Shoulder arthroplasty, including both anatomic and reverse prostheses, emphasizes deltoid tension and precise glenosphere placement for stability and optimal recovery.

Knee

Total knee replacements follow a kinematic alignment approach, while unicompartmental implants are offered to selected patients to best preserve native joint structures.

Traumatology

Adult and pediatric trauma care includes peripheral and complex joint fractures, with a focus on modern fixation techniques and biologically respectful bone healing.

My
Values

1. Patient-Centered Care

Every patient is unique. I take the time to listen, understand individual needs, and create treatment plans tailored to your lifestyle and goals.
Your recovery journey should align with your personal life, ambitions, and expectations — not just with medical protocols.

2. Honesty & Transparency

I believe in clear, honest communication. You will always receive straightforward explanations, realistic expectations, and full transparency about risks and outcomes.
Trust is built through open dialogue — and I want every patient to feel informed, confident, and respected at every step.

3. Excellence in Surgical Precision

Orthopedic surgery demands both skill and precision. I commit to continuously refining my techniques, staying current with medical innovations, and upholding the highest standards of surgical excellence.
My goal is not only to perform successful procedures, but to ensure optimal function and minimal recovery time.

4. Compassion & Respect

Behind every condition is a person. I treat each patient with empathy, dignity, and respect — just as I would want my own family to be treated.
Understanding your concerns and fears is part of my role, and I strive to create a safe, reassuring environment at all times.

5. Long-Term Outcomes, Not Quick Fixes

My focus is not only on solving immediate problems but ensuring long-term function, mobility, and quality of life — whether through surgery or non-surgical care.
True success means helping you return not just to movement, but to the activities and life you love.

6. Education

I aim to empower patients with knowledge. I want you to understand your diagnosis, your options, and feel confident in your treatment journey.
When patients are informed, they become active participants in their care — which leads to better decisions and outcomes.

7. Commitment to Ethics

Every medical decision I make is rooted in integrity, prioritizing patient safety, evidence-based care, and the ethical practice of medicine.
You can be assured that your well-being — not trends or pressures — always comes first in my approach to care.
